Sludge reactor
WebbSpecial attention is given to the main operating characteristics of the UASB reactor concept. Moreover, some preliminary results are presented of laboratory experiments concerning the use of the USB reactor concept for denitrification as well as for the acid formation step in anaerobic treatment. WebbActivated sludge reactors are aerobic suspended-growth type processes. Large amounts of injected oxygen allow maintaining aerobic conditions and optimally mixing the active biomass with the wastewater to be treated. Activated sludge systems are highly efficient for organic matter and nutrient removal, though pathogen removal is low.

WebbThe activated sludge process is a type of biological wastewater treatment process for treating sewage or industrial wastewaters using aeration and a biological floc composed of bacteria and protozoa. Webb28 mars 2024 · Therefore, through making use of a comammox-inclusive bioprocess model reliably evaluated using batch experimental data with joint contributions of different nitrifying guilds, this work probed into the proliferation and functioning of comammox bacteria in two commonly-used floccular sludge reactor configurations, i.e., continuous …
Webb19 sep. 2024 · Removal processes and potential inhibition of biomass activity in the activated sludge reactor were investigated through a series of batch tests. A 600-mL glass flask (500 mL operating volume) was used for conducting the experiments. The tests were performed in duplicated, and the results averaged. Webb23 jan. 2015 · The activated sludge of the oxidation reactor containing NO 3-N is recirculated with high flow rate in the anoxic pre-denitrification tank in order to remove nitrates from wastewater. Small concentrations of DO are constantly present in biological pre-denitrification reactors.
Originally, this reactor had been designed as an oblong ditch with a central partition equipped with horizontal shaft aerators in a punctual arrangement (oxidation ditch) (figure 14). Nowadays, it is also constructed in the shape of a ring, with pressurized air aeration and mechanical agitation resulting in a minimum 0.30 … Visa mer By definition, this reactor is a totally homogenous tank where micro-organism, oxygen and residual substrate concentrations (figure 11) are identical at all points in the tank. The influent is immediately dispersed … Visa mer The influent and recirculated sludge come into the tank inlet that is arranged to form a very long channel (figure 12). Substrate concentrations and … Visa mer The contact zone is an integral mixing-type agitated tank receiving feed water and recycling water . This process principle … Visa mer This is a variant of the plug flow reactor where the influent is injected at various points into the aeration tank, consisting of a series of parallel cells. All the recirculated sludge is … Visa mer WebbUp-flow anaerobic sludge bed reactor (UASB) is a common type of anaerobic digester where anaerobic biological treatment of the wastewater stream takes place. It is known for its simple and compact design, which requires less reactor volume and space with tendency for higher loading rates to be applied, which leads to better treatment and …
WebbActivated sludge (AS) is a process dealing with the treatment of sewage and industrial wastewaters and developed around 1912-1914. There is a large varity of design, however, in principle all AS consist of three main …
